Afghan Withdrawal: Domestic And Regional Implications

The ongoing withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan (scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014), combined with the planned end of NATO combat operations, will have major implications not only on the war-torn state itself, but also the region as a whole, with both intra and inter-state tensions in Central Asia likely to rise over the medium term.
