5,000 New HIV/AIDS Patients Reported In January
News: There were around 5,000 new HIV/AIDS patients in Russia in January 2014, reports Russian news agency RIA Novosti, citing a study released by Russian state-run statistics agency Rosstat. This represents a 14.8% year-on-year increase from the number of new HIV/AIDS patients reported in January 2013. The study stated that 4,880 new HIV-positive patients were reported in the country in January, which included 81 children aged under 17. More than half of these cases were reported from 11 regions of the country: Kemerovo Region, Bashkortostan, St Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara Region, Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Irkutsk region, Perm region, Omsk and Novosibirsk.
