Authorities Set Maximum Rate For Mobile Internet Access

News: The authorities in Cuba have fixed the maximum rate for mobile internet access at CUC1 (US$1) per MB of data that state-run telecoms monopoly Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba (ETECSA) can charge. The rate does not include service set-up charges and was approved with the publication of the Ministry of Communications Resolution No. 8/2014 in the Official Gazette in February. The resolution specifies that mobile internet access could be launched in the country in April. The access will initially be available for postpaid subscribers, with prepaid subscribers to be able to access mobile internet from Q314.
