Banks Register 12.3% Growth In Lending
News: On December 31 2013, the National Bank of Ukraine disclosed that the total amount of loans lent by Ukrainian banks to companies and individuals from early 2013 to December 30 2013 grew by about UAH95bn (US$11.38bn) or 12.3%. Of the total, 90% was borrowed in the national currency. Despite the political events in the country, the banking sector improved its performance as bank assets, liabilities and capital were on the rise, the central bank added. The banks regulatory capital in 11 months grew by 8% to UAH193bn (US$23.11bn), while consolidated profit reached UAH2.4bn (US$287.4mn) during the reported period.
