BMW May Produce Mini Cars At Mitsubishi Plant

News: The Netherlands' Economic Affairs Minister Maxime Verhagen is in discussions with German premium carmaker BMW over production of the latter's cars at Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors' NedCar facility in Born. Mitsubishi had revealed in February 2012 that the company plans to shut down the facility by the end of 2012. Dutch industrial group VDL recently announced that it will acquire the facility only in the case of finding a potential customer. The plant is an ideal location for BMW to boost production of its Mini brand cars, since the company's Cowley facility is almost operating at maximum capacity.
