Centerra Faces Dispute With Kyrgyzstan Government


News: Canadian mining company Centerra Gold has stated that it may take the Kyrgyzstan government to court if it tries to take a 67% stake in its Kumtor gold mine, Mineweb reports. The company had signed a memorandum of understanding with the government to increase its stake in the project to 50%, from 32.7%. The Kyrgyz Parliament has now rejected this agreement and has instructed the government to seek a 67% stake.
