Ceragon Upgrades mcel's Microwave Network


HYPERLINK "News:m" News : Israel-based equipment vendor Ceragon Networks has secured follow-on orders worth more than US$6.5mn from Mozambique Cellular (mcel). Ceragon will expand mcel's microwave transmission network, first deployed in 2010, from Beira in the centre of the country to Nampula in the n orth. It will also upgrade a variety of access links nationwide.

BMI View : With 4.545mn subscribers as of June 2012, mcel is Mozambique's largest mobile network operator. The network improvements provided by Ceragon will deliver increased capacity and enable mcel to deliver more advanced services to end-users. Ceragon is providing its Evolution IP Long Haul and FibeAir IP-10 solutions. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.
