Chevron Completes Shale Gas Exploration Programme


News: Chevron Canada, the Canadian subsidiary of US energy company Chevron Corporation, has announced the completion of the initial exploration phase at the company's shale gas project in west-central Alberta, Canada, reports Scandinavian Oil-Gas Magazine. The company is reported to have successfully completed an exploration drilling programme at 12 wells located in the Kaybob area of the Duvernay play. Five wells are reported to have been completed with an additional four wells awaiting completion. According to Chevron Canada, liquids yields for the completed wells are within the 30-70% range and have an initial production rate of up to 7.5mn cubic feet per day of natural gas as well as 1,300 barrels of condensate.
