Claro Costa Rica To Launch LTE Services On April 1

News: Telecoms operator Claro Costa Rica will commercially launch its 4G LTE services in La Uruca, Heredia, Escazu and Santa Ana on April 1, reports La Nación. The services will be available for tablets, mobile handsets, and USB modems. The services will initially be post-paid only, with pre-paid options likely to follow in mid-2014. Prices for 4G LTE services will range from CRC8,000 (US$15.44) to CRC50,000 (US$96.51) a month. Costa Rican incumbent operator Grupo Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad, which provides telecoms services under the Kolbi brand, extended its 4G offering to include mobile handsets in the week ending March 8, having launched a data-only service in late November 2013.
