Clinical Trail Ban Continues Until Completion Of Review
News: The Indian Supreme Court (SC) has ordered that clinical trials for 162 new chemical entities will continue to be on put hold until the apex committee and the technical committee complete their review of their benefits. On September 30, the SC ruled that no new clinical trials would be conducted in the country until a mechanism is put in place to monitor them. Of the 162 entities under consideration, 157 entities that were cleared for clinical trials until December 31 2012 were to be reviewed by the two apex committees. The other five chemical entities, which were approved for clinical trials in 2013, will undergo trial subject to an audio-visual recording of subjects consenting to participation in such trials.
