Coca-Cola To Tap On Growth Opportunities In Africa
News: US-based beverage firm The Coca-Cola Company plans to take advantage of growth opportunities in Ghana, said Reiner Becker, the general manager of Coca-Cola Equatorial Africa Limited. Coca-Cola is delighted with the growth opportunities and community development that exist in the nine West African countries, which are managed from Ghana by its subsidiary office, Coca-Cola Equatorial Africa. The firm will continue to expand and customise its products to address lifestyle needs of its consumers, said Becker. Ghana is amongst the top six growth markets with an emerging middle class, Becker added.
BMI View: Carbonates sales are expected to continue growing strongly over the next few years both in volume and value terms. Over the forecast period, per capita consumption of carbonates is expected to grow from about 9 litres to about 13 litres (taking into account forecast population growth).
