Doosan Secures Desalination Plant Construction Project


News: South Korea-based Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction has secured a contract worth US$103mn to construct a desalination plant in Chile. The plant will have a desalination capacity of 220,000 tonnes of water a day from mid-2016 to supply to the Escondida copper mine, which is believed to be the world's largest source of copper, according to a statement published by the company. France's Degremont and Spain's Acciona, were some of the other companies seeking the contract.
