Entel Movil Builds 300 Mobile Base Stations


News: Entel Movil of Bolivia introduced 291 mobile base stations in the department of Cochabamba since the nationalisation of its state-owned parent fixed line operator Empresa Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Entel) in May 2008, reports TeleGeography. About 165 2G bases stations have been deployed since May 2008, while 126 cell sites delivering 4G capacity have also been installed. Entel Movil plans to offer 4G services throughout the country's 337 municipalities by mid-2014. It is also understood Entel has installed about 131 telecentres in rural localities in the department, alongside more than 574km of fibre cabling.
