Experts Demand Reforms In Pharma Industry
News: Pharma experts in China have urged for reforms of public hospitals and more pharmaceutical industry regulations. The move comes after the police disclosed more details of suspected financial breaches by GlaxoSmithKline China (GSK China). The bribery allegations against GSK China are a sign of prevalent corrupt practices common among domestic pharmaceutical companies in the country, according to Wang Yaoguang, the director of the pharmaceutical law institute at Tsinghua University. Experts are calling for swift legislation and reforms to prevent similar cases. Clear rules on communications and transactions between drugmakers, hospitals and doctors are essential, Yaoguang added.
