Federal Government To Oppose Rise In Pay-TV Taxes



News: Brazil's federal government plans to oppose a proposal by state-level officials to raise the ICMS tax on cable and satellite services from 10% to 25%. The pay-TV services are offered by firms such as América Móvil America Movil SAB and DirecTV. The communications minister, Paulo Bernardo, intends to convince state finance secretaries to drop the proposal.
