Fujian Ports Register 10.1% Rise In Container Traffic


News: Ports in the Chinese province of Fujian registered a 10.1% year-on-year (y-o-y) rise in container throughput to 1.71mn twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) during January-February. The Xiamen port recorded a 6.8% rise in container traffic to 1.16mn TEUs, while the Fuzhou port recorded an 11.3% rise to 302,100TEUs. The total throughput of the ports in Fujian climbed by 11.3% y-o-y to 74.04mn tonnes. The Xiamen and Fuzhou ports handled 30.39mn tonnes and 21.94mn tonnes cargo, up 9.4% and 19.3% y-o-y respectively (TransREporter).
