Gasol Moves Forward With LNG-To-Power Bid

News: State power utility Enemalta has selected the consortium Electrogas Malta as a preferred bidder for a liquefied natural gas (LNG)-to-power project. The consortium comprises Gasol, SOCAR Trading, GEM Holdings and Siemens Project Ventures. The project, which aims to lower the country's energy costs, involves the provision of a floating storage unit and the regasification of the initial 1.56-1.70mn cubic metres per day of gas from LNG deliveries to Malta. The regasified LNG will be provided to Enemalta's 149MW power plant and the proposed 200MW independent power plant, which will be operated by Electrogas.
