Glanbia Under Investigation For Illegal Milk Movement

News: Ireland-based dairy and ingredients producer Glanbia's Tipperary-based supplier has been accused by the Department of Agriculture of shifting around 500,000 litres of milk from one of its farming operations to another holding over the past 10 months. This comes amid an over-supply situation in the country with more than 100mn litres in 2013-2014, tempting the farmers to avoid some or all of the more than GBP30mn (US$49.71mn) fine. The company is facilitating inquiries by the Department into milk quota arrangements involving two of its milk suppliers, according to a company spokesperson.
