Government Proposes Health Act To Regulate Drug Quality
News: The government of Ecuador is debating over a proposed Health Act, dubbed the Health Code, in its national assembly. The act aims to regulate the safety and quality of pharmaceutical products in Ecuador. The proposed act also aims to implement a stringent system of controlling and certifying pharmaceutical products by proper registration, approval, monitoring, control and inspection of medical products. Moreover, the Health Code calls for a ban on the sale of medicines that contain narcotic and psychotropic substances without a prescription from an authorised professional.
