Government To Build New Polypropylene Complex
News: Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has announced that the government is working towards building a new gas-chemical complex to produce polypropylene and polyethylene at Balkan in Turkmenistan, State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH). The complex, which is to be built in the Kyyanli village, will be established with the help of domestic state-owned gas company Turkmengaz and a Japanese-South Korean consortium of firms. The consortium of Japanese and South Korean firms includes Toyo Engineering, LG Engineering and Hyundai Engineering. The proposed complex will enable the county to start widespread production of polypropylene and polyethylene, which are utilised as feedstock in several industries, within a period of five years, Berdimuhamedov added.
