Gwadar Port Receives Approval For Nine Projects Worth US$1.8mn
News: China has approved nine projects worth US$1.8mn for the complete construction of Pakistan's Gwadar port, said chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority, Dostain Khan Jamaldini. The port is scheduled to be completed in the next two or three years. A master plan for the construction of the port has also been prepared by China, which has received interest from five companies for investments. In the past five to six years, the Gwadar port imported 963,609 tons of wheat, 4.80mn tons of urea and 5.76mn tons of wheat. Ships carrying wheat, fertiliser and coal could be diverted to the Gwadar deep sea port in accordance to a decision taken by the Economic Co-ordination Committee, said the Gwadar Port Authority (Business Recorder).
