Hamburg-Süd May Revive Merger Talks With Hapag-Lloyd

News: German shipping firm Hamburg-Süd is likely to revive merger discussions with Hapag-Lloyd, reports Bloomberg, citing Hamburg-Süd's CEO Ottmar Gast. The two companies made a failed attempt for a merger in early-2014 as the shareholders of the companies did not agree with the terms of the merger deal. According to Gast, a three-way alliance could be on the agenda as Hapag-Lloyd has joined operations with Chilean shipping company Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores.
