Health Ministry Buys 930mn Flu Vaccines For 2013-2014 Epidemiological Season


News: The Kazakh health ministry bought 930mn flu vaccines worth KZT633mn (US$4.06mn) for the 2013-2014 epidemiological season, reports Remedium News. The World Health Organization has forecast the spread of seasonal influenza virus type A (H3N2), A (H1N1), influenza B and other non-influenza respiratory viruses to be extremely high in Kazakhstan in the 2013-2014 season. The government will provide free vaccination to the most vulnerable groups, including children with chronic pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases, weak and sickly children, children in orphanages, elderly people in nursing homes, health workers, and pregnant women.
