Hino Opens First Spare Parts Plant

News: Japanese truck and bus manufacturer Hino Motors has opened a new parts facility at Logistics District in Dubai World Central. Hino Motors Middle East Parts Depot (HMMED) is Hino's first spare parts facility in the Middle East and joins other depots in the US and Belgium. HMMED will focus on the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, significantly cutting delivery times and logistics costs. Until now, the Europe-Middle East-Africa region was served by the Belgian facility.

BMI View: The parts trade in the Gulf has been growing rapidly, and the UAE has been a major player. Around 65% of imported spare parts and accessories are re-exported to other countries in the Middle East, Africa and former Soviet Union states. The trade has been booming in the UAE.
