Iran Earns IRR14trn Annually From Cargo Shipments


News: The head of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organisation, Ataollah Sadr, has said the country earns around IRR14trn (nearly US$1.15bn) a year from the loading and unloading of goods at its ports, reports Fars News Agency. Sadr said that goods worth about US$140bn transit through the country's ports each year. The total capacity of Iranian ports has increased by 80mn tonnes in the last eight years, to 184mn tons, according to roads and urban development minister Ali Nikzad.
