Karachi Port Handles 13m Deep Draft Vessels

News: Pakistan's Port of Karachi has stated that it has handled 12 vessels with a 13m deep draft since November 2012. Out of the 12 vessels, nine vessels carried coal, two carried general cargo and one carried rock phosphate. More than PKR30mn (US$307,380) was generated in business revenue from the handling of the 12 vessels by the Karachi Port Trust (KPT). The KPT also ensured that loading and unloading of cargo from the vessels occurred round the clock in order to reduce turnover timing of the vessels.
