New Car Sales Rose 13.4% In January


News: New cars sales in Lebanon increased 13.4% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 2,358 vehicles in January 2013, compared with 2,080 units in January 2012, according to the Association of Car Importers in Lebanon. The Lebanese auto market was dominated by South Korean carmakers with 42.7% of the market, followed by European cars with 25.3%, while Japanese manufacturers accounted for 24% of the market with sales of 566 units during the month. Chinese car sales increased 193% y-o-y to 41 cars in the reported period, up from 14 cars sold in the previous year.
