New Wharf Opens At Monrovia

News: Liberia's president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, announced on May 22 that the reconstruction of a new wharf at APM Terminals (APMT)'s facility in the freeport of Monrovia has been completed. The 600m quay, which was built in accordance with the current industry standards, was constructed nine months ahead of schedule. The Monrovia concession agreement stipulated a three-year deadline for the construction of the new quay. The government had signed a 25-year agreement with APMT in 2010, under which APMT will invest around US$120mn in improvements, equipment and training.
