Nokia Receives Chinese Approval To Sell Handsets To Microsoft


News: Finland-based multinational technology firm Nokia has secured Chinese regulatory approval to sell its mobile phone business to US-based Microsoft. Nokia and Microsoft anticipate this deal to close by the end of April 2014. Microsoft has agreed to several licensing terms as part of the ministry's approval, for a minimum eight years in China. These terms include upholding the FRAND commitments and refraining from seeking injunctions against alleged violators of standards-essential patents.
