Number Of Oral Disease Rises

News: An increase in the number of oral diseases, including cancer and diabetic cases, in Tanzania has been noted by the Tanzania Dental Association (TDA). The use of tobacco, salt and oil, among others were some of the factors responsible for the increase in oral disease, according to TDA President Rachel Mhaville. Around 55-61% of the population has suffered from oral disease in the last six months, according to a national survey. The association joined the international community to commemorate World Oral Health Day and conducted free checkups, consultancies and referrals to patients on March 16, Mhaville added.
