News: Ooredoo Myanmar, a subsidiary of Qatar-based telecoms operator Ooredoo, has revealed plans to launch commercial 3G services in the country in Q314, reports Arabian Business, citing Ooredoo CEO Nasser Marifih. The operator is currently deploying its network and is also planning to enter into an infrastructure sharing agreement with Norway-based telecoms operator Telenor's local subsidiary, Telenor Myanmar. The firms are considering sharing their transmission, towers and even power. Both the operators were awarded two new telecoms licences in an auction in mid-2013. Ooredoo Myanmar aims to secure between 30% and 50% of the market within the first two years of the launch.
