Passenger Vehicle Registrations Rise in January

News: Registrations of new passenger vehicles in EU increased by 5.5% in January, according to the latest data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). The results show a fifth successive rise in new passenger car registrations. However, absolute figures show that the month's results are the second lowest result to date for the month of January since ACEA started releasing data for the enlarged EU in 2003. The UK and Spain recorded a 7.6% rise in number of registrations, while Germany recorded a 7.2% increase. New registrations in Italy climbed 3.2%, while French registrations inched up by 0.5%.
