PEBS Publishes Iron And Steel Imports Data


News: According to the data published by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistic (PEBS), the country recorded an 11.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) rise in iron and steel scrap imports to 134,911 metric tonnes (mt) in December 2013. In value terms, the imports increased by 20.62% y-o-y to US$56.19mn during the reported period. Although, the country's iron and steel imports fell by 16.52% y-o-y to 122,450mt in December 2013. The iron and steel imports were valued at US$100.11mn during the reported month.
