Plant & Food Research Opens New Unit

News: New Zealand-based food research and development company Plant & Food Research has opened its new Maitai Seafood Research unit to fit in with its range of seafood technologies. The investment is part of the company's efforts to support research to understand the sensory, behavioural and physiological characteristics of seafood species in order to benefit the domestic seafood industry. The move will boost the ongoing Precision Seafood Harvesting Primary Growth Partnership programme and the MBIE-funded Wildfish 2030 programme. The new unit will enable the firm to collect a variety of species at different life stages, increasing the quality and quantity of finfish for research into physiology, behaviour and husbandry.
