Port Records 16% Increase In Cargo Shipments


News: Cambodia's Phnom Penh Autonomous Port reported a 16% year-on-year increase in cargo shipments due to improved economic conditions in 2013, according to a statement released by the port on January 24. The port received 110,500 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in the reported period as compared with 95,333TEUs in 2012. Increased shipments of garment products, construction materials and agricultural products led to increased cargo shipments, according to director general of the port, Hei Bavy. The port is likely to record an additional 20% growth in 2014, Bavy said (the Global Times).
