PTS Publishes Swedish Telecoms Market Report 2012


News: Swedish postal and telecoms regulator, the Post and Telecom Agency (PTS)'s, Swedish telecoms market report for 2012 has confirmed that total revenues from the consumer market for electronic communications marginally fell to SEK53bn (US$8.2bn) in 2012. The decline was recorded as income from fixed-line voice service slipped by 11%. However, turnover from mobile data grew 21% y-o-y to SEK7bn (US$1.08bn), while turnover from mobile voice calls fell slightly in 2012. Additionally, the number of fibre broadband subscriptions grew 16% y-o-y, while the number of active 4G broadband subscriptions also increased to 240,000 in 2012 from 30,000 in 2011.
