Rio Tinto To Suspend Madagascar Operations

News: Anglo-Australian mining company Rio Tinto has announced plans to temporarily close its mineral sands mining operations in Madagascar, Mineweb reports. The company stated that the operations would close for two months in a bid to counter falling market prices, weakening demand and a global over-supply of ilmenite. The operations are expected to close from the beginning of November 2013.
