Senelec Signs PPA For Taïba Ndiaye Wind Power Project

News: State-owned utility Senelec has signed a power purchase agreement for an industrial wind power project at Taïba Ndiaye in Senegal. As part of the project, 46 units of Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas' V-126 3.3 megawatt (MW) turbines will be installed. This is a change from previous plans to use German manufacturer Nordex's machines. The project, which is being developed by France-based Sarreole, has also been expanded from 125MW to 151.8MW. It is expected to cost an estimated EUR275mn (US$375.87mn) and be fully operational by 2017.
