State Allocates ARS15mn For Tafí Viejo Workshops


News: The Argentine government has earmarked ARS15mn (US$2.66mn) to modernise equipment at Tafí Viejo rolling stock maintenance workshops in Tucumán province, reports Railway Gazette. The move is aimed at increasing production capacity for wagon overhaul. Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Industrial (INTI) had provided training in project management and industrial design. INTI is also developing a technology transfer project for maintenance and construction of wagons. It will also be involved in creating quality control procedures for bogies and wheelsets along with braking systems.
