Suez Canal’s Revenue Slips 6.2% In April


News: Egypt's Suez Canal recorded a 6.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) decline in revenue to US$406.1mn in April, compared with US$433.1mn in April 2012, reports Reuters, citing Egypt's State Information Portal. The canal's revenue stood at US$407.4mn in March. Meanwhile, the government had increased the fees paid by ships passing through the canal on May 1. The move was aimed at boosting revenue amid a currency crisis in the country.
