Three Solar Plants To Open In 2016


News: Three solar power plants, with a total capacity of 26.5MW are scheduled to start operating by 2016 in Pakistan, reports International News. The country's National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) reportedly fixed an upfront rate of PKR22.02 (US$0.22) per kWh for the station's output during the first 10 years of operation and PKR9.13 (US$0.09) per kWh between the 11th and 25th year of operation. The photovoltaic facilities comprise an 11.52MW station, to be built by Access Solar, a 10MW plant by Access Electric and a 5.04MW plant by Sanjwal Solar Power. Financial closure on the projects is required by March 31 2015 and construction works should be completed in eight months.
