Traffic Problems May Lead To Motoring Restrictions Based On Income

News: Dubai, UAE, may consider banning poor people from car ownership in order to deal with the growing traffic issue, reports The National. Hussain Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, has recommended motoring restrictions on the basis of income. 'Everybody has their luxury life, but the capacity of our roads cannot take all of these cars without ownership laws,' said Lootah. Dubai authorities are also planning to increase parking fees, fuel prices, toll road fees and insurance rates to add restrictions on car ownership. Moreover, the authorities intend to introduce a new tram system to enhance the city's public transportation system.
