Transport Dept Offers Funds To Advance Fuel Cell Technology


News: The US Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has revealed federal funding worth US$13.6mn to advance the commercialisation of US-manufactured fuel cell buses for the transit industry. The funds will be granted to eight projects through the FTA's National Fuel Cell Bus Programme. CALSTART and the Centre for Transportation and Environment will manage the funding. The FTA's programme has provided around US$90mn since 2006 to expedite the development of fuel cell technology by creating more opportunities for US manufacturers.
