Vodacom And iBurst Dismantle WiMAX Network


News: The process of dismantling South African telecoms operator Vodacom's WiMAX network has been initiated, according to Vodacom spokesperson Richard Boorman. The WiMAX network was launched by Vodacom in partnership with iBurst in Gauteng and Cape Town in 2008. The operator has also managed to migrate most of its WiMAX subscribers to other services. A small number of users are still using the technology. Vodacom is keen to use the WiMAX equipment in other operations in Africa.
